Hey guys this is my fourth and final post I will be addinge to this blog and I hope you guys have enjoyed, because I definetely did, so lets get started! All in all we have learned some pretty cool and pretty disturbing thing things about story of how the greeks think the world was made like how cronus cut off his father's balls and how there are beasts called hecatoncheires which have one-hundred arms and fifty heads, My favorite god/monster/whatever, was gaea because she gave us earth a without earth we would all be dead! I think this story tought us how not to eat your own chilren or else bad stuff will happen. This story has affected us a lot (pretty much only in movies) but some other ways are in card games, comics, and a lot of things are named after them. Now you now a little more about greek mytholog and if you enjoyed find more on
After the war Gaea was angry that all of her children were put in the tartarus so she gave birth to her last child Typhon, Typhon was killed by zeus' lightning bolts. But before he was killed he married Echidna and had 6 kids, the nemean lion, the Cerberus, the Ladon, the Chimera, the Sphinx, and the Hydra.
The nemean lion was a huge beast that has impenetrable skin and he was killed by Hercules after he strangled him for his twelve labors. Cerberus is a three headed dog/wolf thing with a serpent tail, a mane made of snakes, and lion claws. He is the guardian of the underworld and Hercules captured him for his twelfth labor. A chimera is a creature with the body of a goat, a head of a lion, and a lizard tail. He terrorized Asia minor but he was killed by a hero named bellerophon. The sphinx is a lion with wings and the head of a female woman, sometimes she was a woman with bird wings, a serpeant tail, and the paws and claws of a lion. She guarded the ancient city Thebes and who ever passed she told this riddle :"What animal is that which in the morning goes on four feet, at noon on two, and in the evening upon three?" an who ever couldn't answer it would be strangled but Oedipus answered the riddle and she killed herself after he answered it. Hello people of the world I'm going to now teach you pi 3.1415926535. Nah just kidding i'm gonna teach you guys about the actual creation story of ancient Greece. I'm really glad you guys like this enough to actually tune in to read this. In the beginning the only thing that existed was chaos but out of chaos came Gaea, Tartarus, Eros, Nyx, and Erebus. Erebus and nix slept with each other and they gave birth to the light of heaven and the light of earth and by herself Gaea gave birth to Uranus the sky. Gaea and Uranus married each other and made three cyclopes (one eyed giants), three hecatoncheires (one hundred armed beasts people with fifty heads), and twelve titans, but uranus hated the hecatoncheires so he hid them in the unknown places of earth. So obviously Gaea got mad and made a flint sickle and gave it to her bravest son Cronus for him to attack Uranus. While uranus was sleeping Cronus attacked him and cut of his balls which spilled into the ocean and created the gods Errinyes and Aphrodite, it also created the giants and ash tree nymphs. Now Cronus is ruler and he locked the hecatoncheires and the cyclopes inside the tartarus. Plus he married his sister Rhea and they many many children but Gaea had prophesized that Cronus would be overthrown by a son, Cronus got worried about being overthrown and he ate all of his children. Rhea was going to have a new kid but she didn't want Cronus to eat him so she gave him to the ash tree nymphs and replaced him with a rock which Cronus. That child's name was Zeus. He grew up on an island called crete. He asked Metis on how to kill Cronus. Together they made a potion that would make Cronus barf out all of the titans. Then Rhea convinced Cronus to let Zeus be his royal cupbearer letting him give him a cup of the potion which worked and he threw up the five boy titans he ate. The titans were glad to be back and they made Zeus their leader. Then a huge war broke out against Cronus and the remaining titans fought against Zeus and his "army" but Zeus let the cyclopes and the hecatoncheires out of tartarus and the cyclopes made lighting bolts for him. The hecatoncheires were waiting in the mountains to ambush Cronus' crew and they threw so many boulders at them that the titans thought the mountains were raining and they left the army so now Zeus has one and he imprisoned all of the remaining bad guys in tartarus and he made Atlas the leader of the bad army hold the world on his shoulders. And they all lived happily ever after! sources: In this blog I will show all you peeps who decided to tune in for the official first blog about the creation story of the world about some of the deities in the greek creation story and how they born/created. In the beginning there was nothing at all until chaos appeared, a primordial void where everything was created. The first five deities were created out of this null. The first three were Gaea, Tartarus, and Eros. Then later chaos created Erebus and Nyx. Gaea is the mother of everything and she is earth. After she and chaos were fused she gave birth to Uranus which is the god of the sky then she and Uranus gave birth to the entire world. Gaea can also be said as Gaia, Terra, Gi, or Ge. Tartarus was a place and a person just like Hades, although Tartarus was way deeper then Hades and was used as a jail for evil beasts or master criminals, and after a war the gods would sometimes banish their enemies to Tartarus. Eros is the god of love and he carries a bow and arrow and he can make anyone fall in love. There was also Erebus he is the god/deity of darkness, like Tartarus and Hades Erebus is a place in the underworld where the dead people go immediately after dying. Erebus had babies with his sister Nyx and they gave birth to Hemera, Aether, Hypnos, Moirai, Geras, and Thanatos. Nyx is the goddess of night. Go to the greek mythology website below for more!
